By March 16, 2023May 4th, 2023No Comments

5 reasons to visit Cheekwood in Bloom in Nashville. So many people forget about this place, aside from the locals. Cheekwood in Bloom is one of my favorite events they have, there are so many flowers, and it just makes me happy! You can stay up to date on what’s currently blooming in the gardens with #tuliptracker. They share these updates on their stories on Facebook and Instagram. And remember, peak bloom for the tulips during Cheekwood in Bloom is typically the last week in March and first week in April.

1. They have more than 250,000 tulips.

Every year Cheekwood kicks off spring with their annual Cheekwood in bloom event. It typically starts sometime at the beginning of March and ends sometime at the beginning of April. It is beautiful! But, Tulips aren’t the only flowers here. They have daffodils, snowdrops, and more! I even saw some bleeding hearts during my visit.

Make sure you are following them on Instagram and Facebook to see what is currently blooming with the #TulipTracker!

2. Check out the Japanese Garden

It is usually in bloom during this event. The vibe in this garden is very relaxed and takes you on a meditative journey. It’s complete with a bamboo forest, lanterns, and more.

3. Explore the whole 55 acre property

There are multiple other gardens to explore. Not all of them are in bloom during this time, but they’re still beautiful to see. There is a boxwood garden, dogwood garden, water garden, and more! On the weekends during Cheekwood in Bloom, they also have food trucks and performances. Look at their online calendar to see who will be there: https://cheekwood.org/calendar-events/2023-cheekwood-in-bloom/

4. Tour the mansion
The gardens and mansion combo tickets are a little more expensive, but the mansion is gorgeous! If you’ve never been here, it’s worth seeing. It is two stories high and full of galleries, both permanent and temporary.

5. Have fun in the Children’s Garden
Even adults can have fun here! Not only do they have activities for kids in this area, but there are fountains, ponds, and more too. You will find live turtles in the pond because Cheekwood serves as a rehabilitation center to them. Also, if you walk over to the Turner Seasons Garden you’ll find the trains exhibit. It was super neat!
